A major goal of SDBM is to launch a skin centre where patients and sufferers can get expert care and advice.
This centre will provide a retreat and access to support groups, workshops, help with managing their treatment, art therapy and much more. More importantly the centre will also specifically invite friends and family, allowing them to receive the same education, and experience firsthand the same care and treatments as a skin disease sufferer whilst being tutored in treatment and relief techniques.

Due to the nature of some skin diseases, caring for a sufferer of skin disease can be a round the clock duty. The responsibility mainly falling on a parent, a close relative or friend.
Parents caring for a child suffering a skin disease may feel distressed about their child’s emotional health and their inability to help, because of this, they may also experience feelings of guilt and depression. Siblings may also feel jealous or excluded.
Caring for a sufferer of skin disease can be very distressing for all the family. Not only are there considerable time implications but also psychologically it can be very hard seeing your loved one in pain on a regular basis.
Carers often find themselves sacrificing their personal lives and careers to look after their loved ones, which can lead to them incurring financial problems as well as a build up of stress and neglect of themselves.
